Report from Moscow Championship
The Moscow Championship has concluded! The gymnasts on the national team only competed in the All Around Final which took place on the first 2 days of the competition. They didn't participate in the Event Finals. This competition was more of an inter-squad for the athletes. It gave the athletes a chance to test their abilities in a competition.
Unfortunately Anastasia didn't have the best meet this time. She just recently returned to competition from recovering from an injury and began learning new routines. Her score on the Bars was a result of one of her new skills, a toe-on Shaposhnikova-half. She caught it, but it was a bit messy and there was an incidental touch by her coach as well. However, given the fact that she's now doing Double-Twisting Yurchenko's, Shaposhnikoa-halves, and double double dismounts shows she's strongly improving! Anastasia understood this and remained relaxed, and there was no pressure on her. So overall, this was a good day for Anastasia. She got a chance to test her new skills! Event Finals - 2012 Visa International Championship
Congratulations to Anastasia Grishina for winning the Uneven Bars final at the 2012 Visa International Gymnastics Competition (London Test Event)! Her score was 15.033. Youna Dufournet (France) finished second and Jinnan Yao (China) finished in third place.
In the Vault Final, Anastasia finished in 7'th place as well. Videos will be added once uploaded. Anastasia did not compete in the second day of the finals so this concludes the competition for her! Results at Olympic Test Event
Anastasia Grishina finished in 10'th place in the All Around at the Olympic Test Event in London! Her score was 55.091.
Since Russia has already qualified during the Worlds last year to go to the Olympics, this competition isn't used to determine whether Anastasia will go to the Olympics. Russia will be able to pick 5 gymnasts to go to the Olympics and will make a decision after a few more competitions. Anastasia's teammate Yulia Inshina finished in 32'nd position (52.966). Top score on Uneven Bars : 15.158, 2nd best score behind Youna Dufournet (FRA) (Difficulty : 6.50, Execution : 8.658). Returning to Round Lake - Competition
Anastasia is currently enjoying a holiday break at her home in Moscow and will be returning to Round Lake on January 5 to resume training.
Her next competition is going to be at the pre-Olympic test event with teammate Anastasia Sidorova from January 10-18 in London. At this competition, both gymnasts will compete for a spot on the Olympic team. Aleksandr Aleksandrov in an interview with IG recently gave praise for Anastasia, saying: "Grishina is a great young talent coming up. She's a very interesting gymnast, very beautiful. She's light, she's flexible, she can do good difficulty. It just so happens she's missed a lot of competition lately. But I have high hopes for Grishina and I'm looking forward to seeing how she performs on the podium." << Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next >> Content Management Powered by UTF-8 CuteNews
